Destroying Debt

Friday’s Confession …

I killed two credit cards.

That’s right I cut them up … and off. I wish I could say that the debt is gone but I did make steps yesterday to stop it and even better lower my interest rates so there’s an end in sight.

I also decided that I should have financial peace – literally. I signed Husband and I up for money guru Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, a 13-week program being offered through my church.

That’s right, folks. I’m. Not. Playin’.

I know you’ve heard the saying, “keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.” For some reason those words stuck yesterday.

I confess, I killed two credit cards and I’m looking forward to taking out the rest.

You are far braver than me (I say as I head out the door to Target, lol). Seriously though, debt is a monster. Good for you for taking control and being proactive!

Once you start paying off stuff, you'll feel so liberated. But don't get all excited and think you'll start seeing extra money right away. For some crazy reason, I haven't seen the money I was paying on my vehicle yet!!! Something or someone always gets to it before I do.

Oh my goodness! So proud of you!!! I remember what it was like when I started the Dave Ramsey program back in September 2007. Cutting up my cards was the hardest thing I did. I had about 8 credit cards (maybe 11) and $93,000 in debt. Well...I'm happy to say that this single mom will be calling the show to give my debt-free scream in about 2 weeks. Thank God for Jesus!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! ;) One step at a time.

mainly circumstances beyond our control (we were forced to have two households) but still it was incredibly stressful for me until it was all paid off.
