Girlfriends Getaways
Monday, June 8, 2009
As if documenting my girlfriends trip to the Mediterranean on video via The Travel Channel wasn’t enough, I felt the need to write about it, too. Yes, I still write for traditional magazines – gasp! Don’t hold it against me, in fact next time you’re in the store pick one up.
“Sail the Mediterranean” is number three on the “Top 15 Getaways” in the June/July issue of Heart & Soul magazine. I also wrote the sidebar “Traveling in Pairs” that offers tips for traveling with your girlfriends and staying sane.
How about you ... what are your travel plans this summer? And, what’s on your Top Getaways list?

How can "Sail The Mediterranean" not be #1?! It was a great trip with great girlfriends - and you know it went well cuz we are all still speaking! ;)
hmm... that's a good question. We don't really have any plans for this summer. We did so much work in the upgrade of our house that we don't financially speaking... vacation is out of the question. Although, I am planning of going to the beach for my husband birthday in august. I would love to go on a cruise one of these days though.
oh, and I just started following your blog.

Writing stories like these for mags is what i long to do for a living. I'd love to hear how you got into it and/or some tips.
I didn't know you wrote for magazines! How wonderful. You just ratcheted up another notch on my "cool chart." I don't really have a chart... not even sure why I worte it but I'm too lazy to start over...
All our vacations revolove around visiting family. Paris sounds LOVELY...
I'm only doing weekend or day trips this year, but I really hope to go on some exciting trips next year.
We love to vacation in Destin and have gone every year since 2004. We. LOVE. it!
My family also has a family reunion every year in a different state. This year, it is in Texas. We have some family in the Virginia Beach area that we hope to visit this Fall. And of course, there are several conventions this year that I want to make.
Top Getaways? I love to travel to exotic places but haven't, so the Mediterranean is on the list as well as Japan, Maldives, Egypt and Israel.
