Costly Cap and Gown

A Sneak Peek Inside Wifey’s House

Friday’s Confession

When I first started Wifey’s House every Friday for some strange reason I felt compelled to tell on myself about something I probably shouldn’t have thought, said or done. Go figure.

Well, here I go again. I just picked the kids up from school and saw that many of my daughter’s classmates had their cap and gown packages for Kindergarten graduation next week, but my child didn’t.

I’m sure you can guess who forgot to send in her check.

Right. My mother of the year award just got rescinded.

Not to worry, I called the cap and gown company and paid the extra $20 fee to have it overnighted in time for her ceremony next week.

I couldn’t let this smiling face be left without her fancy duds.

How about you? Have you ever forgotten to pay for something for your kids? Mishap mamas need to know …

Well, I'm sure I have forgotten to pay for something for my children. But I currently have amnesia on the subject. No worries though, i'm sure i'll do something next week. I'm sure your little girl is going to be adorable next week in her costly cap and gown, it'll be worth it though wont it?

Yes I have forgotten to pay a few things here or there for the kids, but it wasn't the end of the world. Sometimes it was my error and sometimes it was their error mainly because they didn't tell me until like the night before. So not my thing. And as for the cap and gown, that extra $20.00 will be worth it when you look back over her pictures in a few years from now.

As a homeschooling mama, I don't have to worry about these things, but first born will be going to public high school next year, so I'm sure there will be many opportunities to forget. Auuugh! Thanks for the heads up (smile).

My kids aren't of school age yet but I remember growing up my parents didn't forget to send money for things - they would refuse. My dad was a huge hater. He'd say "Why are they trying to get more money from us? I pay my taxes!" We would end up with yearbooks with more than one kids friends signing it. My 2 brothers that were in the same grade got to share a yearbook. Lovely. Good times...

My best, Lynn
