Mother’s Day Money

A Sneak Peek Inside Wifey’s House

This is a conversation I had with my 5 year-old daughter, Milan, about Mother’s Day:

Milan: I know what I’m getting you for Mother’s Day.

Me: Really?

Milan: Yes, but I can’t tell you. It’s a SURPRISE!

Me: OK.

Milan: It starts with a “D.”

So much for surprises.

Me: Really?

Milan: DIAMONDS!

Me: Nice. Love them.

Milan: Oh, but I don’t have any money. Can YOU give me some?

How about you? What do you want to buy yourself for Mother’s Day? ATM Mama’s want to know …

At least you'd get what you want, right?? LOL

Funny you should say that. My husband had surgery two weeks ago and can't go out and do anything right now. So he tells me that when I get paid to go and get myself something nice for Mother's Day. It's just not the same as when he and the kids go out and do something. I think I may pass this year and then next year, it'll be bigger and better.

I always say, the best gifts don't cost a thing! My daughter definitely gets it, and makes great homemade cards, and loves to cook for me! She's 10. My hubby, he on the other hand, likes to spend the almighty dollar! He told me yesterday to be thinking of what I would like...Hmmm...my mind is full of stuff! Including but not limited to, just lots of snuggle time!

This is too funny. She could at least trick you into paying for your won mother's day gift. That's what my 13 year old always does. (lol). I get gifts and cards and wonder where does he get the money, now I know, from his ATM stepmommy. Great post, I really enjoyed it.

I just finished reading your book. I loved it!!!

Fantastic! lol My DH measured my finger for a ring last night - perhaps he's planning to visit a gumball machine! I love planting flowers on mother's day~

I don't want anything in particular. I'm always happy with homemade cards and those flower pots they bring home. Enjoy your diamonds Wifey:)

I would like to buy a truckload of flowers and spend the day gardening. And if we're being over-the-top I'll go with the PP who said a total spa day. The whole enchilada, baby!

I remember telling my mom when I was about 6 that I was going to buy her a mink coat. She asked me how much I was going to spend on it and I told her 99 cents. We still laugh about that.

I *want* to buy myself a new fancy digital camera, but it's not in the budget. I can count on not having to cook though & that works for me too. :)

your daughter is too funny.....she is well aware of the things her mommy likes, even if you do have to pay for them.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! That was so funny! I got a very pretty card from my daughter that she made in school and something wrapped in a package that I will not open until Sunday. My son colored a piece of paper and his daycare teacher wrote Happy Mother's Day on it. Hubs? Well, I am sure he will hit Wal-Mart at midnight.
