Award-Winning Writer

A Sneak Peek Inside Wifey’s House

There’s an award-winning writer at Wifey’s House and um, it’s not me. It’s Miles. Remember the story that he wrote when he was channeling little Eddie a couple of weeks ago? Yes, the one where he chronicled our trip to White Water and shared some embellished details, ahem, about his sister’s behavior. Well, apparently his teacher thought the story was “so creative” that she entered it in the school’s writing fair – and it won.

Miles’ story and trophy

That’s right, my 8-year-old is an award-winning writer. The story took first place for the third grade and was just entered into the county competition. Not only did he receive this spiffy little trophy but he got to read his story to the entire school on its morning news. Miles came home that day beaming with a big ol' grin on his face from ear to ear.  Eventually it faded, but my smile is still shining bright enough for both of us.

Congrats to Miles. I'm sure he learned from his mom.

Yay! Miles! On days like this you feel like that extra story at bedtime when they were 4 and you were so tired were not in vain. Congrats to you too, Mom!
